Founder & Curatrice – Buket Bal Soezeri

Buket Bal Soezeri is an independent curator and editor based between Zurich and Istanbul. She is the founder and director of ArtMeant* Project, an independent art platform.

Her practice is grounded in hands-on experience gained through galleries, museums, and independent art initiatives. She has worked as a gallery assistant, museum assistant, content editor, and social media manager, actively contributing to exhibition organization, artist coordination, and digital communication processes. In addition, she has authored curatorial texts for numerous exhibitions. Alongside her institutional experience, she continues her practice through independent platforms, seasonal exhibitions, and artist-led projects.

Soezeri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Her academic background informs her curatorial approach, which is shaped through dialogue, collective production, and an engagement with the social and spatial contexts of artistic practices.

Within the scope of ArtMeant* Project, she develops artist interviews, artist features, online exhibitions, and open calls, while building collaborations with artists, writers, and independent spaces across different geographies. Her work focuses on process-based research, editorial clarity, and creating sustainable spaces for artists in response to monopolizing structures.

Editorial Researcher & Writer – Açelya Dursun

She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in Art History at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, where she built a strong academic foundation in art theory, visual culture, and interdisciplinary research.

With a particular interest in the relationship between contemporary art, history, and cultural narratives, she has actively contributed to projects that explore diverse artistic disciplines and modes of expression.

As a writer, she produces in-depth articles and critical essays for ArtMeant* Project, aiming to make art history and contemporary artistic practices more accessible to a wider audience.

Writer & Content Editor – Meryem Özbahar

Meryem Özbahar is an artist and researcher, currently pursuing her Doctorate in Fine Arts at Anadolu University, Institute of Graduate Studies. As a doctoral candidate, her academic inquiries revolve around postmodern aesthetics, deconstruction and contemporary art practices, while her artistic work delves into the fragile intersections of body, image and language.

Through an interdisciplinary approach, she seeks to rethink the notion of beauty and to provoke encounters that invite viewers beyond conventional meanings. Her research and artistic practice have been shared across national and international exhibitions, projects and academic platforms, reflecting her commitment to both critical thought and creative exploration.

ArtMeant* Project exists through collective effort. We sincerely thank all writers whose contributions, texts, and perspectives continue to shape the platform.
