How did the idea of founding Galerie Sechs come about? What motivated you the most during this process?

Galerie Sechs was founded with the goal of providing more opportunities for emerging artists while fostering an intimate and supportive community for artists and new art forms. We wanted to create a space where creativity thrives, ideas are exchanged, and artists feel empowered to push boundaries.

How would you define the artistic vision and philosophy of your gallery?

Our vision is to curate exhibitions that provoke meaningful discussions and inspire reflection. Each show is designed to engage audiences with thought-provoking themes that challenge perspectives and encourage deeper conversations about contemporary issues.

Does the name “Galerie Sechs” have a special meaning?

Yes! The number six is considered lucky in Chinese culture, symbolizing smooth progress and success. We hope that this name brings good fortune and positive energy to the gallery, our artists, and our community.

How do artists apply to Galerie Sechs? Could you provide information about the application process and the conditions for collaborating with your gallery?

Artists can apply through a three-step process:

Online Application – Submission of portfolio and project proposal.

Online Interview – A conversation to discuss their artistic vision and how it aligns with the gallery.

Offline Meeting – A final in-person discussion to finalize potential collaboration.

We seek artists whose work aligns with our mission of creating impactful, thought-provoking exhibitions.

Do you organize special programs or events for collectors and art enthusiasts?

Yes! We offer exclusive events such as:

• Artist Talks – In-depth discussions with artists about their work and process.

• Artist-Guided Tours – Personalized exhibition walkthroughs led by the artist.

• Workshops – Interactive sessions where participants engage with different artistic techniques and concepts.

What trends or developments in today’s art world excite you the most?

We are particularly excited about socially engaged art, where artists create works that interact with and respond to real-world social and cultural issues. This form of art has the power to connect communities, challenge norms, and inspire change.

What are your thoughts on digital art and NFTs? Is Galerie Sechs interested in these areas?

Digital art is an important and evolving medium, and we are open to exploring it further. However, we are more interested in how digital technology can be used conceptually rather than simply as a market-driven trend. If a project aligns with our vision and offers artistic depth, we are keen to engage with it.

What upcoming exhibitions or projects are you currently working on?

From March 7th to March 28th, we will present a joint photography exhibition titled “ Awakening – A Celebration of Renewal”. This exhibition explores themes of transformation, rebirth, and new beginnings, featuring works that capture the essence of change and the passage of time.
